GOLD PLATED JEWELLERY:

To take care of your gold-plated jewellery, we must first start by understanding that even though they don’t tarnish as easily as sterling silver, they are vulnerable to acids, alkalis and cosmetics. The various shades of gold plating used in Dhwani Bansal Jewellery (rose gold, yellow gold, dull gold, antique gold and white gold) are all of 22k, and require the same level of care.

To preserve the shine of the plating, avoid putting the jewellery in direct contact with cosmetics, hairspray, soaps and perfumes. As such we recommend that you wear your jewellery at the end, after you’ve done your make up, set your hair and sprayed on your perfume. We would also recommend wiping your gold plated jewellery with a soft, damp cloth and letting them dry out completely before storing them back in their boxes/pouches to remove any traces of moisture and perspiration that might have gathered on to them through the course of you wearing them.

Having said this, if your jewellery needs more cleaning you can gently cleanse it with warm, soapy water and a soft brush. For a more thorough cleaning, or any repair of it, you can send the jewellery to us. For more information on our services you can get in touch with us here.

PEARLS:

To take care of them, we must once again start by understanding that pearls are organic and more delicate than other gemstones/precious stones. The natural freshwater and baroque pearls used in Dhwani Bansal Jewellery are very vulnerable to acids, alkalis and extreme damp conditions.

To preserve the lustre of your pearls, avoid putting them in direct contact with cosmetics, hairspray, soaps and perfumes. As such we recommend that you wear your jewellery at the end, after you’ve done your make up, set your hair and sprayed on your perfume. We would also recommend wiping your pearl jewellery with a soft, damp cloth and letting them dry out completely before storing them back in their boxes/pouches to remove any traces of moisture and perspiration that might have gathered on to them through the course of you wearing them.

Having said this, don’t be afraid to wear your pearl jewellery as often as you wish to. Pearls are composed of a certain amount of water and keeping them untouched for long periods of time or stored in airtight boxes may in fact dehydrate them and sometimes cause them crack.

GEMSTONES/PRECIOUS STONES:

Gemstones/Precious Stones are delicate, beautiful and require care to maintain their quality in the long term. The most used gemstones in Dhwani Bansal Jewellery are Amethysts, Citrines, and a variety of coloured Quartz.

These precious stones are sensitive to extreme temperatures and prolonged exposure to high heat or sunlight might with time discolour them slightly.

To keep the sparkle of these stones intact wipe them down with a soft, damp cloth and let them dry out completely before storing them in their boxes/soft pouches. We recommend storing these pieces away from your other pieces of jewellery to prevent the gemstones from coming lose in their settings and/or getting scratched.
