JEWELLERY CARE

General Care Guide

  • All our pieces are meticulously handcrafted in 22k gold plated or white rhodium plated recycled brass and are set with natural pearls and gemstones and enamels.
  • As handcrafted pieces go, their beauty lies in the imperfections that get imprinted on them by the numerous hands that work hard towards creating each beautiful design and so each piece may vary slightly in psyche, shape and colour.
  • Now that they’re yours, love them, wear them, experience them and enjoy them to the fullest! Make them your own, a moment in your stories.
  • All Dhwani Bansal pieces are guaranteed for life (on the making and not as warranty), and we offer full re-plating services for all our pieces purchased online and offline through us.
  • Handle the push pins, links and hooks with care as they require a gentle touch.
  • In case of any damage please do get in touch with us here and we will try our best to help you out.

Caring for Gold Plated Jewellery

  • Even though they don’t tarnish as easily as sterling silver, they are vulnerable to acids, alkalis and cosmetics. The various shades of gold plating used in Dhwani Bansal pieces (rose gold, yellow gold, dull gold, antique gold and white gold) are all of 22k, and require the same level of care.
  • To preserve the shine of the plating, avoid putting the jewellery in direct contact with cosmetics, hairspray, soaps and perfumes. As such we recommend that you wear your jewellery at the end.
  • We would also recommend gently wiping your gold plated jewellery with a soft, damp cloth and letting them dry out completely before storing them back in their boxes/pouches to remove any traces of moisture and perspiration that might have gathered on to them through the course of you wearing them.
  • If your jewellery needs more cleaning you can gently cleanse it with warm, soapy water and a soft brush. For a more thorough cleaning, or any repair of it, you can send the jewellery to us. For more information on our services you can get in touch with us here.

Caring for Rhodium Plated Jewellery

  • Rhodium plated pieces require the same level of care as gold plated jewellery.
  • To preserve the shine of the plating, avoid putting the jewellery in direct contact with cosmetics, hairspray, soaps and perfumes. As such we recommend that you wear your jewellery at the end.
  • We would also recommend gently wiping your rhodium plated jewellery with a soft, damp cloth and letting them dry out completely before storing them back in their boxes/pouches to remove any traces of moisture and perspiration that might have gathered on to them through the course of you wearing them.
  • For a more thorough cleaning, or any repair of it, you can send the jewellery to us. For more information on our services you can get in touch with us here.

Handling Pearls

  • Pearls are organic and more delicate than other gemstones and semi-precious stones. The natural freshwater and baroque pearls used in Dhwani Bansal pieces are very vulnerable to acids, alkalis and extreme damp conditions.
  • Don’t be afraid to wear your pearl jewellery as often as you wish to. Pearls are composed of a certain amount of water and keeping them untouched for long periods of time or stored in airtight boxes may in fact dehydrate them and sometimes cause them crack.
  • To preserve the lustre of your pearls, avoid putting them in direct contact with cosmetics, hairspray, soaps and perfumes. As such we recommend that here too you wear your jewellery at the end.
  • We would also recommend wiping your pearl jewellery with a soft, damp cloth and letting them dry out completely before storing them back in their boxes/pouches to remove any traces of moisture and perspiration that might have gathered on to them through the course of you wearing them.

Handling Gemstones

  • All gemstones and semi-precious stones are delicate, beautiful and require care to maintain their quality in the long term. At the DBJ Studio, we've been biased towards the yummy colours of Topaz, Amethyst, Citrine and Quartz.
  • These precious stones are sensitive to extreme temperatures and prolonged exposure to high heat or sunlight might with time discolour them slightly.
  • To keep the sparkle of these stones intact wipe them down with a soft, damp cloth and let them dry out completely before storing them in their boxes/soft pouches.
  • We recommend storing these pieces away from your other pieces of jewellery to prevent the gemstones from coming lose in their settings and/or getting scratched.
